April 2024 NEWS LETTER

Hello All

As spring gathers pace, we are putting together the finishing touches to our brass and organ program for 2 forthcoming concerts - the first at St Albans Cathedral on 6th May and the second in Kings College Chapel on 9th June. St Albans on a bank holiday Monday is always a great place to play, and we look forward to our long awaited return. It will also be a special occasion to play in Kings College Chapel again, after a long absence.

It's been a quiet start to the year performance-wise for the group, but we've been busy preparing our material. This included hosting Lindsay Shilling for a brass workshop. Lindsay is one of the country's leading Trombone players and teachers, and the group learned lots during our time together.

As ever, we look forward to seeing you at one of our concerts soon, so please look at our website for details of where you can see us during the year (advance notice that we will be back at the Botanic Gardens in July, for another summer session).

Brian Kay, Conductor and Radio Presenter

"The icing on a very considerable cake was terrific playing from the members of Prime Brass: not only a dazzling sound and tremendous technique, but all delivered with such generosity of spirit. They raised the roof and added everything I could possibly have hoped for - and then some"!
